This is a strong-growing large deciduous climber. Flowers are small and starry, to 3cm in width, reddish-pink\/purple fading to white at the base and borne in panicles from mid-summer to early autumn.<\/p>\n

A beautiful and easy clematis.<\/p>\n

One of the most strongly scented varieties.<\/strong>\u00a0Descriptions of the scent vary from hawthorne to almond and marzipan.<\/p>\n

It can be planted straight into your garden. It\u2019s a tough plant.<\/p>\n

Easy to look after, just hard prune it every spring back to about 12 to 18 inches above the ground, or shorter down to 6 inches if you want, or back to where you want the new growth to start. It puts all its flowers on the current season\u2019s growth and the plant will get bigger and better every year. If you\u2019re a tidy minded gardener you may prefer to prune them down at the back end of the year when everything has died down.<\/p>\n

Other than that variety is trouble-free and will do its thing without much fuss.\u00a0 You can feed it if you like during the growing season, any general purpose feed, tomato feed, manure, etc. Add bonemeal, manure, a bit of good compost or any other long-term food to the planting hole to get it off to a good start.<\/p>\n
